DIVISION OF FINANCIAL SERVICES NAMES CAROLYN BRADFORD AS NEW SUPERINTENDENT

Kimberly Zurz, Director of the Ohio Department of Commerce, announced today that the Division of Financial Institutions welcomes Carolyn Bradford as the new Superintendent. Ms. Bradford has worked with banks and businesses for over 30 years and most recently served as CEO of a community bank in Southwestern Ohio.
“Carolyn brings to the Division many years of valuable experience in banking, customer service, and project management,” said Director Zurz. “We are excited to welcome her as the new Superintendent of Financial Institutions and look forward to her leadership.”
The Division of Financial Institutions regulates Ohio's state-chartered depository institutions and non-depository financial service providers. The Division is responsible for the examination, supervision, and regulation of Ohio-chartered banks, savings and loan associations and savings banks, credit unions, money transmitters, and trust companies. It is also responsible for licensing pawnbrokers, mortgage brokers, loan originators, credit service organizations, check cashing services, precious metal dealers, premium finance companies, short-term lenders, small loan act lenders, and mortgage loan act lenders.
Ms. Bradford will officially join the Division as Superintendent of Financial Institutions on July 12, 2010.
