Benjamin D. Carnahan is a partner at the law firm of Dinn, Hochman & Potter, LLC.  Ben is an experienced business, commercial and real estate attorney focused on serving the financial services industry.  Throughout his career, Ben has represented companies big and small, from the nation’s largest banks, lenders and loan servicers to regional banks, small businesses and closely held corporations. She has led multiple 50-state survey projects for Fortune 500 companies concerning state and federal consumer statues and UDAP regulations. Christopher M. George, Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association, is the founder, President and CEO of CMG Financial, a privately held Mortgage Bank, headquartered in San Ramon,  California. In addition to his role at CMG Financial, George has served on the MBA’s Board of Directors since 2012, is a member of MBA’s Independent Mortgage Bankers Executive Council and MBA’s Consumer Affairs Advisory Council, as well as an active member of MBA’s advocacy efforts. He is also immediate past Chairman of MBA’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.   Additionally, George is past Chairman for California Mortgage Bankers Association and has served on many advisory boards and task forces within the industry.

 James Sassano, Carlisle Law

James Sassano manages the Carlisle Law foreclosure, mediation and loss mitigation departments.   Mr. Sassano was a staff attorney from 1994 to 1997 to two judges of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. He joined our law firm in 1997 as an associate practicing real estate law with an emphasis on creditor representation in foreclosure actions. Mr. Sassano was instrumental in gathering a coalition of lenders and various Cuyahoga County officeholders, including several suburban mayors, to provide a source of funding for the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas to expedite the foreclosure process.

Zachary Luck, Ohio Dept. Of Commerce
Division of Financial Institutions

As Deputy Superintendent at the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Financial Institutions, Zach Luck oversees examination, licensing, and administrative enforcement for more than 18,000 consumer finance licensees in Ohio. Prior to joining the Division, Zach represented and counseled financial institutions and other companies at a global law firm. Zach previously served as Senior Advisor to Director Richard Cordray of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. While at the CFPB, he provided policy and legal analysis on consumer financial protection issues, drafted portions of consumer financial protection regulations, and helped to create new financial education resources.

Kelly Lipinski

Kelly Lipinski, McGlinchey Stafford Cleveland, focuses her practice  on compliance and regulatory matters involving the consumer financial industry. She regularly advises depository institutions and their affiliates, mortgage companies, sales finance companies, and education lenders on federal and state consumer finance issues.  Kelly also has experience with state compliance issues and frequently represents clients before state regulatory agencies, concerning licensing and examination issues. Kelly will lead a panel of Non-QM lenders, adding insight on the regulatory side.

 Ted C. Jones is the Chief Economist and Senior Vice President for Stewart Title Guaranty Company. Prior to joining Stewart he served as chief economist at Texas A&M University’s Real Estate Center, the nation’s largest publicly funded real estate research group. An accomplished speaker, he typically gives more than 150 presentations on real estate and the economic outlook each year.
