David served 6 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the MBA, 8 years on the Residential Board of Governors (2 as Chairman) was 2017 Chairman of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. and 2015 Co-Chair of the Servicing21 Working Group. Recognized for his service to the industry, David is a recipient of MBA’s Andrew D. Woodard Distinguished Service.  David served as a member of the Community Bank Advisory Counsel for the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Zachary Luck
“Ohio’s New Licensing and Registration Requirements”

As Deputy Superintendent at the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Financial Institutions, Zach Luck oversees examination, licensing, and administrative enforcement for more than 18,000 consumer finance licensees in Ohio. Prior to joining the Division, Zach represented and counseled financial institutions and other companies at a global law firm. Zach previously served as Senior Advisor to Director Richard Cordray of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. While at the CFPB, he provided policy and legal analysis on consumer financial protection issues, drafted portions of consumer financial protection regulations, and helped to create new financial education resources.

Kelly Lipinski
“Non-QM Lending”

Kelly Lipinski, McGlinchey Stafford Cleveland, focuses her practice  on compliance and regulatory matters involving the consumer financial industry. She regularly advises depository institutions and their affiliates, mortgage companies, sales finance companies, and education lenders on federal and state consumer finance issues.  Kelly also has experience with state compliance issues and frequently represents clients before state regulatory agencies, concerning licensing and examination issues. Kelly will lead a panel of Non-QM lenders, adding insight on the regulatory side.

Jason Bernstein

Jason A. David Stein

David Stein is chair of Bricker & Eckler’s Banking & Financial Services group and maintains a national practice in this area of law. He advises businesses on consumer-facing issues, including real estate, privacy, credit reporting, technology, data security and e-commerce.A veteran in the financial services industry, David spent more than two decades in roles as in-house and outside counsel for national independent lenders and servicers. David is nationally recognized authority in the area of trade practices, including advertising and sales practices. He is the author of the Social Media and Digital Advertising Compliance Resource Guide, published by the Mortgage Bankers Association.

Brian Deas
“Ohio’s Fast-Track Foreclosure Process Update”

Following  his  graduation  from  law  school,  Brian  served  as  a  judicial  clerk  to  the  Honorable  J. Craig Wright of the Ohio Supreme Court and to the  Honorable John  D. Holschuh of the  United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio. Brian co-founded the Manley Deas Law Firm in 2002  with  partner  Ted  Manley.  Manley  Deas  Kochalski  is  a  default  service  law  firm  that  represents mortgage servicing companies and other institutional creditors in Ohio and Kentucky. It is a Fannie Mae Retained Attorney Network firm. Brian was the leading force behind getting Fast-Track Foreclosure Legislation for Vacant and Abandoned Property introduced and passed in Ohio.

Bob Hoose
“Ohio’s Fast-Track Foreclosure Process Update”

Robert R Hoose, Executive Vice President at Clunk, Paisley, Hoose Co, LPA, is a former member of the Board of trustees of the OMBA. Bob’s practice specializes in real estate services, including matters of foreclosure. Bob is a member of the OMBA Legislative Committee and was involved in the crafting of Ohio’s Fast-Track Foreclosure Legislation. Bob is a graduate of the University of Akron and the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.

Dr. Ted Jones               Ted C. Jones is the Chief Economist and Senior Vice President for Stewart Title Guaranty Company. Prior to joining Stewart he served as chief economist at Texas A&M University’s Real Estate Center, the nation’s largest publicly funded real estate research group. An accomplished speaker, he typically gives more than 150 presentations on real estate and the economic outlook each year. Representative real estate groups addressed include the National Association of REALTORS®, National Association of Home Builders, National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives, Fannie Mae®, the American Land Title Association®, The Housing Round Table, Association of University Real Estate Officials, and many more. You’ll be talking about this presentation for weeks!

Gene Lugat, Mortgage Action Alliance Chairman

Mortgage Action Allaince Chairman, Gene Lugat, is the Executive Vice President of Eastern Division National Industry and Political Relations at PrimeLending.  Gene is a past president of the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association and recently served on the MORPAC Committee as a board member for the 2015-2016 election cycles.
